The Waiting Room

One of the most anxious rooms, full of people craving information and updates. It’s a place we’re forced to wait, and there’s no fast forward button to help speed things along. We’re desperate for answers, and we pray to understand, yet God makes us wait.

We wait through tests. We wait through court decisions. We wait through reports. We wait through a legal process. We wait through depression battles and broken hearts. We wait to find out if everything is ever gonna feel better or if we’re ever gonna get through it. And each hour, day, or week feels like an eternity.

We pray for peace, patience, or faith. But as soon as God gives us trials to learn those things, we want to take it back. We say things like: “On top of everything else going on in life, now this.” Just when we thought we were headed in the direction God wanted us to walk in, and now it’s full of uncertainty, loneliness, and pain. I want to encourage you today though, not just because I’m hurting too, but because we do serve a powerful God.

God is faithful. God will see things through. He won’t abandon you in the middle of the road. God already knows the journey you are on. God has already felt the pain you’re feeling. And God will never leave your side.

We may have to wait. But while we’re waiting, God is still present.

“I am confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.” -Psalm 27:13-14

“Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; do not fret when men succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.” -Psalm 37:7
