Brave

This word has been rolling through my mind the past few days as I’ve heard many people use it. What I’ve been seeing is that we get really caught up in having to be brave and putting up this front of having it all together and being strong. But sometimes, becoming vulnerable for someone or showing that you can be weak is just as brave.

People tell me I’m brave for meeting strangers, I’m brave for telling my story. But deep down I know I’m scared to become so vulnerable, it’s the Holy Spirit that gives me that strength.

Instead of getting swarmed by the trials and pretending to save face, reach out to others. Take that step of so called bravery and let others help. It’s okay to feel a little scared or nervous, but it feels so refreshing to be used by God in the acts of bravery and courage.

I encourage you this week to be brave. Find some way, conquer a fear or an encounter, become vulnerable for a minute. Nothing will happen apart from God’s will, there’s no need to be afraid.

“What then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?” – Romans 8:31

“No one will be able to stand up against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you.” -Joshua 1:5
