When things don’t go according to plan, God is still good. When everything hits the fan at work, at home, in the family, with friends, God is still good. When things are outside of our control and we worry about the little things, God is still good.
If anyone is a planner like me, when the unexpected comes up or it’s not fitting the way I wanted to schedule it, sometimes that’s the most stressful part of the day. But if I stop and think about how each piece is shaping my life, I can look towards the cross to be reminded that it’s not my plan.
When God says He is the lamp, He doesn’t say He’ll be the step lights lighting up the entire path, it’s one step of faith at a time. Doors close because they weren’t the best choice for us. People leave because they’re done shaping our lives. Plans change because we don’t know what God is leading us towards.
I challenge you today to pray for God’s will in your life. Maybe that’s a change in your plan, but His way is always better than our way.
“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.” -Psalm 119:105
