What’s the power of a label? Someone labels us, gives a false description, or has a negative opinion of us, and we let that dictate how we feel about ourselves.

The more time we spend thinking about other’s opinions of us, the less we have to think about how God sees us. We waste time by giving others power over our thoughts. This leads to discouragement which loses motivation which multiplies the to do list which causes hopelessness.

But you need to remind yourself that you are God’s beloved child, a faithful servant, and a grateful believer in Christ’s love. You have a shepherd that chases you down, overflows your vessel with peace and grace, and leads you to do His work.

When you remember that and fixate your thoughts on those facts, it gives you the power to overcome the negative opinions from others.

“Am I now trying to win the approval of men, or of God? Or am I trying to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ.” -Galatians 1:10

“You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord, is the Rock eternal.” -Isaiah 26:3-4
