The Journey

Too many times we are so focused on the destination, we forget to admire the journey it takes to get there. How often do you take walks outside just to admire what’s around you? In the same way, our journey to get where we want to be takes time. God is still walking with you whether you are where you want to be or you are living in the process of getting there.

Maybe you feel like your job isn’t what you want to be doing. Maybe you are waiting for the treatment to work. Maybe you want to find a new place to live or people to enter your life. Take a moment to see how God is working where you are. You are developing the skills you need to be in that next place.

Have faith and patience in the waiting, dear friend. Just as plants take time to bloom, or an art project takes time to finish, it’ll take time to get where you want to be.

“So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught and overflowing with thankfulness.” Colossians 2:6-7

“Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.” Romans 5:3-5
